We walked back to the northern longitudinal tunnel and I knelt to take a picture through the hole in the wall of the northern
tunnel extending to its exit. The Optical Factory wanted to remove the dog leg
(according to their first plans) but the
plans in their brochure shows the dog leg intact - I believe the 90 degree bend can just be seen
by the red bricks - but I’m not sure.
Another fact the camera picked up is the row of darkened bricks, every two bricks, near the arched ceiling. It
looks like wooden beams could’ve been fitted here.
