Although the Post Office merrily subdivided rooms and painted them gaudy colours, some evidence of the war time uses of the bunker remained. Here, in this long narrow room, the original light fittings and tiled floor remained. It was probably used to store items for the bar in the 1960s, but in the 1940s this was the Battery Room - the tiled floor providing protection against acid spills.
