Walking past the new houses and flats, and passing a small brick building with a single
lone door, another entrance to the former Post Office Research Station revealed another
large 1930s building. With its glass frontage and sheer size, this would’ve been a further
prime urban exploration site - except that it’s now being used for industry.
But this building wasn’t my target either.
Incidentally, if you're interested, the research station was responsible for the Speaking Clock,
postal sorting machines, hearing aids, television broadcasting links, transatlantic cables,
the television license detector van, and satellite communication.
