I walked further, passing a substation by the side of the road, now bricked up and
fenced off, but still operational. It was probably built to supply the area and possibly also the
Research Station. But this wasn’t my destination either - I’d walked straight past it!
Whilst the Research Station was large and boastful, secret places should remain undistinguished and bland.
And in this part of suburban London, is one of the most secret relics of World War Two.
