Just past another manhole cover, the style of the tunnel changed again.
It retained the height but with the two pipes now lay side by side, then walking down
this tunnel was achievable only in a crab-like, sideways shuffle.
We made the assumption that this tunnel just serviced the remaining wards on this side
of the hospital and would get smaller. The more interesting parts of the network, and the
tunnels to the boiler house, would’ve been back by the kitchens.
So, we pushed open the manhole and made our way back into the corridors of Cane Hill.
