We were pausing around the corridor of Queen’s ward for me to satisfy another of my ‘niggling little questions’. This time it was: how did people get to the balcony in the Main Hall?

The balcony had gone, but the door entrances were still there. And we could find no way up there from the main corridor.

So, it was a matter of getting outside. The window in this small room had already been removed - obviously by someone with the same idea - and the green staircase outside looked a likely candidate.

"Dave, Mike and I removed this window... as you could see, the panes were stacked up on the floor. I couldn't bring myself to just smash it open." - Andrew
