It’s been almost a year since I started this website with a rather non-descript trudge around the perimeter fence of Cane Hill hospital. So, I felt it was rather fitting to mark the occasion somehow. The plan was to meet up at Cane Hill and explore its dark interiors – another tour to match, or possibly surpass my original Grand Tour. However, due to my bad timekeeping, I missed everyone else. But it was a glorious sunny April day. So, to start the ball rolling, I’ve walked the Cane Hill perimeter again – but this time the shots are bigger (check out the full sized images), the composition is better and the lighting is superb. And this was the first of six asylums I visited that day… there’s far more to come. So, may I present, A Portrait of Cane Hill, 2003.
