There was nothing left to do than cut our losses. It was a burning hot day and so we decided to walk around the site and check out the decrepit isolation hospital and the well-preserved chapel. All were locked tight and Anna Sewell's farmhouse, also to the north of the main hospital complex, was covered by CCTV cameras tellingly the only building to be protected in such a manner.
