Finally, after two trips to Severalls, where we just circled the perimeter fence and looked at the villas and grounds, we finally gained access. As we approached the main buildings for the first time, expectation grew – just how good would it be inside? And what would we find? We found a vast building of total contrasts. Totally intact and untouched in some areas, through to being systematically destroyed and totally smashed in others. And with the wind howling through the building, doors banging, police sirens going off, and low flying aircraft overhead, my first exploration of Severalls also became an exercise in keeping my nerve. And, for some strange reason, I couldn't take one straight shot that day. Oh well...
