This was one of the most extensive sites I’d ever explored. Square miles of ruinous rural and former landscape garden, nicked by the M6, and boarded by Birmingham sprawl. So, after doing our homework, we’d both prepared by taking maps, plans, and other documentation.

Well, I assumed Sam of nobodythere.co.uk had. And she assumed I had.

So, the first part of the day wasn’t spent trying to find the site; that was easy. The first part of the site was spent trying to find a way in. And once in, it was no easier.

But as the light started to fade, we found our target.
