The architecture and detailing of the original asylum buildings could also suggest that rooms and spaces
were more important than they actually were. I found workshops with elegant leaded windows and tiled
floors; although I was at a loss to determine what these small rooms were used for.

Consisting of two isolated basement rooms reached through an exterior door, these spaces could’ve been a
chapel in any other asylum, but given Warley’s Tudor-styled architecture, it’s very difficult to determine an
original use for these rooms.
