The search for a new interesting asylum to explore was on. Finding a
publication of most of the Victorian Asylums in the UK, I was surprised to discover
that they were dotted everywhere – most counties had at least two or three. So, what about Warley? I’d been told that most of the asylum had gone – demolished for redevelopment. And as I drove to find the site, there were boards advertising new housing estates. Not a good sign. But, as this recce unfolded, it was very interesting to see what remained.
