We crossed the roads, plunging through the bushes, finding newly dug holes filled with discarded piping and beer cans. Beedingwood was being prepared for redevelopment, the new veins and arteries being dug even before the old building was removed. The copse was thick, hiding the deteriorating building from the road, but only took a few steps, leaps and slips to traverse. And then we were in the front garden, admiring the north aspect of this battered house.
