How had Beedingwood ended up like this? The Reverend Harvey stayed in the house until his death in 1938 when it was put up for sale. It may have been requisitioned by the government during the war years (a fate that befell many large properties) but it ended up as part of Roffey Park, who snapped up the property in 1946 at the end of the war.
