By 1978, Great Bar Hall was surplus to requirements, and vacated. Leaking, if not a
little rundown, the billiard room and internal halls were stacked with papers and records.
Then the building was mothballed by... doing absolutely nothing.
(I took this shot of a first floor fireplace as there was a dragon carved into its stonework and wondered if the camera could
pick out the detail. It did. Click on the picture for the seriously large version).
