"When HRH Prince George visited the brickworks in 1934, the site was producing
9 million bricks per week and still expanding. Two years later, it was the largest
brickworks in the world, trading now under the simple name of the London Brick Company
as further mergers and takeovers rationalised the whole industry. It produced 500 million
bricks per year."
