"The Second World War saw the brickworks supporting the war effort by
supplying bricks for airfields and shelters, whilst diversifying into
engineering by making parts for the Sten machine gun and finishing American tanks.
The post-war years saw the brickworks reverting back to its original function,
producing the bricks required for rebuilding the nation."
