sleaford maltings | between a rock and a hard place

A huge swing door stood latched against the wall, blocking the way onto the conveyor bridge. Marlon pulled the handle and the door slid back smoothly to reveal a wall of bricks.

There was no access to the conveyor bridge so we’d have to work back down to the ground floor, leave this malting house and try and find our way into malting house #8 at ground level.

However, we still had the rest of this malting house to explore. We took the stairs down to the second floor and moved north where a door led to the next part of the building, which was the former Kiln Room.
