sleaford maltings | between a rock and a hard place
19|09|09

We crossed malting house #6 via the Garner sub-basement and emerged in the lane between malting houses #6 and #5. The central core was mostly burnt out, the conveyor bridge reduced to a metal skeleton.

The architecture of the buildings of malting house #5 was slightly different, subtly emphasising its different purpose: that of receiving, preparing and storing the green barley.

We quickly ran across the lane into an open door opposite. We were extremely near to the water tower now; getting caught at this point would be most frustrating.
