These rooms weren’t connected to the rest of the buildings so we ventured outside, momentarily blinded by
the overcast day.
We took the bridge which lead across the stream to the silk mill. Whilst the two building complexes were
completely different, they were linked by means of various bridges, pipes and cables, so both sites were
connected in some way.
The squat building pictured housed a generator (hence the ventilation tower) and took the incoming feed
from the local substation. Whilst many of the fuse boxes were either smashed or removed, I remember being
impressed by the amount of power the site required. (But this was my pre-Pyestock days so I guess I wouldn't
be so impressed now).
