Facing us was the last of a line of four ‘C’ Type Hangers. Two hangers ut Upwood were unchanged since their building, retaining their original hanger doors and windows.

Two had been considerably changed. They were given a new brick shell and air conditioning plant, whilst the new hanger doors were considerably smaller, and all the windows were bricked up.

We only had time to visit one hanger, so we picked one of the modernized ones.

The small garage building with roller shutters seen between the hanger and the stores was a four-bay petrol tanker shed.
