It was a small electrical room, totally isolated from the rest of the building.

Fuse boxes and switchgear galore.

Nothing was humming or buzzing, so I guess it was safe to say that power was isolated. And no, I wasn't going to do the ‘tongue-test’ when 415V was involved.



2008: All the metal covers of the fuse boxes have gone as have many of their metal interiors. I think metal strippers have been at work here, and they’ve systematically removed almost everything. The batteries (shown on the next page) have also gone.
