Asylum Chapel location was a thorny subject with asylum architects in the nineteenth century. The argument of their positioning has already been illustrated on this web site - Severalls,
Rauceby and Whittingham
all have exterior Chapels built like small churches. But at Cane Hill, the
Chapel is part of the actual hospital
complex - tucked away behind the Administration Block.
