This is the road leading past the CRX, with the grounds of Cliveden on our right. The hospital was built in the grounds on land donated by Nancy Astor, the family owning Cliveden at the time.

After the NHS simply forgot about the place in 1985 (or so it seems), the hospital reverted back to the Cliveden in the early 1990s, and into the hands of The National Trust. Instead of nurturing one of the most famous landmarks in Taplow, the Trust wants to redevelop the site. And hence have become the ‘bad boys’ in this story.
