sleaford maltings | between a rock and a hard place

We took the final flight of stairs to the top floor of the Steep. This gave us an excellent bird’s eye view of the transmission bridge between our malting house and malting house #8; the wooden slats looked extremely dangerous and neither of us relished the idea of clambering along the metal girder next to it.

Our elevated position also gave us a view further down the lane between the two blocks and we saw one of the two storey conveyor bridges which also linked the two buildings. With its metal base, it looked a much more solid prospect so we decided to investigate it further.
